We were taught that exposed skin is a message.
Flirtation. Challenge. Disrespect. Alarm.

So when a body appears without costume, the mind reaches for sirens:
This is about me. For me. Against me.

What if it isn’t?

A sunbather rinses salt from their hair.
A neighbor steps onto the porch to shake sand from a towel.
An artist posts a self-portrait to mark survival.
None of these scenes require an audience response beyond respect.

Provocation isn’t in the body.
It’s in the story we attach to it.

You’re allowed to notice and let the moment pass—
like weather moving across a quiet street.
You’re allowed to feel curiosity without turning it into claim.
You’re allowed to keep your gaze soft, your steps light, your thoughts private.

If a line is crossed—staring, harassment, non-consensual exposure—
address the behavior. Not the existence of skin.

Most nudity is practical, healing, restful, or simply comfortable.
Let it be unremarkable.
Let presence stop demanding explanation.

A naked body doesn’t have to provoke you.
You can let it be a body—
and keep your peace.
